Project Facilitation & Strategic Advice

During more than 18 years of planning experience in Australia and the UK, Sarah Auld has developed particular expertise in strategic planning projects and project positioning, management & facilitation.

Sarah often acts in a project lead capacity on complex multi-disciplinary projects across Victoria, for both government and private sectors.

Sarah’s diverse professional experience includes precinct and activity centre revitalisation, land development, retail, commercial & residential projects, energy projects, policy development and infrastructure projects.

Sarah is a sessional member of Planning Panels Victoria.

In 2018 Sarah was recognised with a PIA (Vic) award for the ‘Best Planning Idea – Large Project’ for the MV2040 Strategy, in conjunction with Moonee Valley City Council.

In addition to project roles, Sarah has been active in industry and business leadership. In 2014 she joined the State Government’s Sustainable Urban Development delegation to China as part of the Victoria Week Trade Mission and presented at forums in Shanghai and Chongqing.

She was a member of the Planning Committee for the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Victoria division until December 2016, actively advocating for improvements in the planning system.

From April 2017 to October 2019 she was a on the Board of Creative Geelong, a not for profit organisation aimed at highlighting and supporting the creative industries in the Geelong region.

Sarah joined the Department of Transport in February 2021 as Director of Transport Precincts.

In 2017 Auld Planning & Projects was engaged to undertake a review of VicRoads internal planning capability. A significant element of the review was consultation across the organisation and with key external stakeholders. All recommendations of the review were accepted by the VicRoads Executive Leadership Team.

MV2040 – Preparation of Long Term Strategy
Moonee Valley City Council

2017-2018

Auld Planning & Projects was engaged by Moonee Valley in early 2017 to lead the preparation of the MV2040 Visioning Paper, the precursor to a long term strategy for the future of Moonee Valley. In 2018 we worked with Moonee Valley on the preparation of the draft MV2040 Strategy. We have also assisted in the translation of the long term strategy into the Local Planning Policy Framework
